My Network
I have a network set up that allows me to do web and E-Mail hosting at a professional level for friends, family, and various Christian ministries. If you’re one of these, and would like to get hosting on this network, let me know. I don’t provide it for free (maintaining this network is far from free), but it’s not expensive, either.
Servers
Avalanche: RedHat Linux 8, Primary Web/Database/Mail/DNS Server
Hurricane: Fedora Core 1, Secondary Web/Database/Mail/DNS Server
Glacier: RedHat Linux 9, Home Gateway/Firewall, Print Server, File Server
Avalanche and Hurricane are set up on multiple high-speed connections to the Internet, hosted by different providers in different parts of the country, with the goal that if either of them goes down for any reason from the hosting company going out of business to a state-wide power outage, the other will remain active. I don’t yet have everything mirrored, but I’m getting closer every weekend.
Workstations
Northwind: Windows 2000, Steve’s home PC
Snowflake: Windows 2000, Steve’s laptop
Icicle: Windows XP Home, Christine’s laptop
Server Software
- Apache 1.3.x
- Postfix 2.1.x
- PostgreSQL 7.4.x
- Slony 1.0.x (replication for PostgreSQL)
