Humor

Way back in the early days of the Internet, when it was just starting to become popular, a lot of people had home pages, but didn’t really know what to put on them.

Since E-Mail forwards were popular back then as well (and spam was almost unheard of), having a list of your favorite jokes became fairly popular.

Here, then, is a list of humorous forwards that I’ve received and enjoyed over the years, plus links to my favorite comics. Consider it a tribute to old home pages everywhere.

Comics

  • Arlo and Janis — Christine and I can have a lot in common with Arlo and Janis, and their cat and ours are definitely of the same breed (in terms of behavior, if not appearance).

  • Rose is Rose — The antics of the Gumbo family, which includes husband and wife (including her live-it-large alter-ego), son Pasquale with his guardian angel, and their cat Peek-a-boo. Fun, light-hearted humor.

  • Ubersoft/Help Desk — Ubersoft is a fictional software company that produces the software products Nifty Doorways XP and newly released Verandah. Most of the comics center around the Help Desk department, though the whole company gets involved. It has been running since 1996, and all of the archives are available online.
